Locatie: Forum Building, Droevendaalsesteeg 2 [Building 102], 6708 PB Wageningen
Organisatie: A joint NWO, IMARES, WIAS, WIMEK symposium

The study of regime shifts developed independently in the freshwater and marine realms; with studies of freshwater regime shifts having a resource-based focus while in marine systems, research concentrates on higher trophic levels. Do these distinct approaches reflect fundamental differences in the drivers of the abrupt changes or is it simply a reflection of a parallel development towards one unifiable body of theory?

This workshop is aimed at bringing together both Dutch and international speakers from both sides of the salinity divide to discuss specificity or generality of the drivers underlying different regime shifts. During discussion time we will attempt to formulate the general principles agreed on by the regime shift community and identify where major points of contention remain.

Confirmed speakers: Grégory Beaugrand, Tobias van Kooten, Wolf Mooij, Henrik Österblom, Marten Scheffer.

Registration: Andrea.Downing@wur.nl  before August 16th, specifying whether you will present a poster or talk. (include any dietary requirements)
