Marine mammals have always been of particular interest to humans. Hunting and slaughtering of whales and seals was common place in the past, but now they are often seen as ambassadors for the protection of the oceans and seas. They are mankind’s favorite animals, respected and adored worldwide. This change in attitude is due to the cooperation of environmental organizations, government bodies, and science at the core.
