Work at IMARES
Working at Wageningen involves making a contribution to research and development in one of our four fields of work: Ecology, Environment, Fisheries and Aquaculture.

Your colleagues will be used to working on projects as part of a team. You will be working alongside national and international clients/contractors. It is possible that you will have to travel or stay on one of our research site for long or short periods. In short, it is a dynamic working environment which calls for flexibility and professional dedication from our employees. Naturally, our supporting staff will assist and support you where possible.

We have 200 staff working at our institute, a number of whom come from overseas – mainly from EU countries.

We currently have offices at:

  1. Texel
  2. Den Helder
  3. IJmuiden
  4. Yerseke

With us, you will have plenty of opportunities to develop your career. With a healthy dose of initiative, enthusiasm and will to learn, you can take your career in a positive direction. As an employer, IMARES has much to offer. Our wide range of job functions means that there are countless opportunities both on the research side and in supporting roles. As the institute is a part of the University of Wageningen, you can also opt for PhD research or a post-doc position. In short, we can offer plenty of opportunities to develop your own career and personal ambitions.
