Larvae
Plankton are an important part of the ecosystem, but we know little about them. IMARES has therefore established a plankton research group that focuses on both phytoplankton and zooplankton.
The planktonic stages of fish (eggs, larvae) have been monitored for a number of years on the North Sea in order to estimate future fish stocks.
