For more than 20 years, IMARES has been tracking the development of the tidal marshes in areas such as the coast of Friesland and has provided advice on management and nature policy.
Over the centuries, tidal marshes have decreased enormously in size, even though they provide important natural habitats and contribute to coastal safety.
