IMARES has a long history of working for the international authorities. These include the federal authorities of (mainly) North Sea countries (including United Kingdom, Germany, Denmark and Norway) and is often related to work in OSPAR.

Researchers of IMARES are often involved in tasks from the OSPAR work programme (Biodiversity Committee - BDC, Offshore Industry Committee - OIC, Joined Assessment and Monitoring Programme – JAMP). Our services in this area includes research, monitoring, advice and facilitation of workshops.
Another strong element is our work for EU Directorates and the Framework R&D programmes.
